City of Iowa City will hold public meeting to show Pedestrian Mall designs

The City of Iowa City will be hosting a meeting for business and property owners and the for the public to go over design advancement for the Pedestrian Mall Improvements Project.

The City of Iowa City will be hosting two informational meetings, one for the open public and one for businesses and property owners, to review design advancement and construction phasing for the new Pedestrian Mall Improvements Project.

Both meetings will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2017 and be located at the Sheraton Hotel on 210 South Dubuque Street. The meeting for business and property owners will be begin at 1:30 p.m. and last until 3:30 p.m. The meeting open to the public will start at 5:30 p.m. and go until 7:30 p.m.

These meetings follow a community meeting held back in July where the public was able to view initial designs.

The goal of this construction project is to work to improve accessibility, infrastructure and the design of the area.

Construction is hoped to begin in 2018.
