Cedar Rapids man charged after Saturday night shooting
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
Cedar Rapids police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that happened Saturday night.
Police say 42-year-old Marc Campbell shot his wife 28-year-old Kameesha Nathaniel in the face while they were inside of an apartment at 435 Ashton Place NE around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Nathaniel was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is expected to cover.
Police found Campbell with a self-inflected stab wound to the chest. He was treated at a hospital until his arrest today.
Campbell is charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury and possession of a firearm as a felon.
CRPD is also investigating a second shooting that happened in the parking lot near 435 Ashton Place NE approximately the same time the domestic incident occurred. They believe it is connected to the original shooting. The second shooting is still under investigation.
