Target to Extend Hours

Updated: Monday, August 18 2014, 10:57 PM CDT

Minneapolis, MN (CBS2/FOX28) - Target is hoping extended hours will help boost sales.

The Minneapolis-based retailer says it will keep its doors open an extra hour or two at more than 900 stores across the country.

It's part of a plan to lure Americans away from shopping online.  The new hours will run through the holiday shopping season.

Both target stores in Cedar Rapids have already extended their hours.  Both stores are now open until 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.

The store in Coralville is open until 11:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday's.

Store Hours are not changing in Cedar Falls, Waterloo or Dubuque.
