evening when he was swept into a storm drain.

17-year-old

was deposited into Cedar Lake.  Bliss walked to St. Luke's Hospital for
treatment of minor injuries.  Stay with CBS 2 News for additional
updates on this story.

Statement from CRPD: The body of 17-year old Logan Blake was recovered from Cedar Lake shortly before 4 p.m. this afternoon.  Firefighters in a rescue boat found Blake’s body in about three feet of water in an area about 75 yards from shore and 30 yards from the island in Cedar Lake.  His body was recovered by firefighters and moved to Area Ambulance Service, who transported the victim to Mercy Medical Center.  The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.

The recovery of Logan Blake ends an extensive search for the missing teenager that began around 7:21 p.m. last evening when the victim was swept into a storm sewer drain near Arthur Elementary School.

About 25 firefighters and police officers, 12 City employees from other departments including Public Works and the Sewer Department, and 60 volunteers comprised of family and friends of the missing teenager continued to actively search for Blake throughout today.   Search activities included land searches around Cedar Lake and the area between the school and Cedar Lake.

Members of Iowa Task Force One, an Urban Search and Rescue team comprised of Cedar Rapids firefighters, Cedar Rapids police officers and some civilians, opened manholes between the school and Cedar Lake, and made confined space entries into the storm sewer system in an attempt to locate the victim.  Search dogs from USAR were also utilized throughout the day.  City of Cedar Rapids Public Works employees, including Sewer Department employees, provided technical knowledge and other assistance throughout the day as well.

No further information is available at this time.
