Linn County Warns of Flood Scams

Updated: Thursday, July 3 2014, 05:43 PM CDT
LINN COUNTY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The county is warning residents about scams making their way across the area.
People have been going door-to-door in areas impacted by flooding, claiming to be FEMA inspectors.
They offer homeowners clean up services and home assessments for a fee.
County officials say no FEMA inspectors are conducting assessments in Linn County right now.
The county also says that residents should be careful of working with anyone in an unmarked vehicle or if they only accept cash.
