Landscaper Rescues Fisherman on Mississippi River

Updated: Monday, June 3 2013, 02:59 PM CDT
DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -- A landscape worker has helped save a fisherman who fell into the Mississippi River at Davenport.
The angler tumbled off the sea wall into the river near Oneida Landing around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Davenport Fire Capt. Joe Smith says the landscape worker was toiling nearby and heard the fisherman's cries.
Smith says the landscape worker got the fisherman a strap to hold onto until fire and police officers could help him out of the water. Smith says the water was 6 to 8 feet deep.
