Flooding Closes Mercy Medical Center ER

Cedar Rapids, IA (CBS2/FOX28) – Mercy Medical Center’s Emergency Room in Cedar Rapids is closed after flooding took over the ground floor.
A hospital spokesman tells CBS 2 that the Emergency Department on the first floor which is on 8th avenue will open after crews have cleaned up the area.
The spokesman says the rest of the hospital is up and running and all staff should report to work as scheduled.
The parking garage nearby on 10th Street is also flooded and blocked off by police.
As soon as the ER is back up and running, we'll let you know.
If you have an emergency, patients are being relocated to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
