Updated: Tuesday, June 4 2013, 10:40 AM CDT
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- FBI statistics show the number of reported incidents of violent crime dropped in two of Iowa's three largest cities.
The number of reports in Cedar Rapids dropped about six-tenths of a percentage point, dropped 7.4 percent in Davenport and rose 2.3 percent in Des Moines.
The violent crimes include murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.
The FBI says crime rates rose 1.2 percent nationally last year. The reports of violent crime climbed faster in cities with populations of 500,000 or more, rising 3.7 percent.
