Pizza Night

Many families have a
weekly pizza tradition. Crafting your own pizza at home is a great
family activity and a sure way to make it a healthy meal. Your Hy-Vee
dietitian shares tips on how to make perfect pizza at home your new
weekly tradition.

1.       Create Your Crust:  Including
whole-grain flour in your homemade crust offers a boost of nutritional
value and fiber to the base of your pizza.  Try the recipe for homemade

2.       Top it Right:  Don’t
forget the veggies to make your pizza a complete meal.  Since veggies
are high in water content, pre-cook in the microwave or oven -roast
seasonal veggies to top your pizza with sweet, caramelized flavor.


3.       Be Choosey with the Cheese: New
